Background
In late 2011 and throughout 2012 BCAT engaged a consultant to assist with a review of the organisation. The Review highlighted the key elements of the work of BCAT, and recommended the formalisation of the BCAT POWER 6 Stage Pathway Model. The adoption/testing and adaption of the model will assist BCAT in moving forward to ensure it continues to provide appropriate, evidence based, comprehensive addiction supports for people at every stage along their drug/alcohol use trajectory.
The Review identified the strengths of BCAT under the acronym POWER:
With the work of BCAT focusing on all the stages of drug/alcohol use. From a service delivery point of view, the stages mirror the Transtheoretical Model of Change, with services tailored to assist people with drug/alcohol problems through the stages.

One to One Key Working Meetings are available to all service users from Monday - Friday by appointment. All service users are invited to make appointments by phone or email, or directly with their key worker. Those who are new to the service are welcome to get in touch so an intake appointment can be made.
Our needle exchange service will run as normal Monday to Friday in Boghall.
